Metal sandblasting is a method of cleaning metal surfaces with an abrasive stream that is directed at high speed and hits the metal and acts as a grinding agent. This process has a double function: it cleans the surface and gives it roughness. Depending on the type of abrasive used, the surface is processed and becomes rough in the form of a certain texture, which later becomes a flawless basis for adhesion to the protective coating.<\/p>\n
In the sandblasting process, various types of abrasive are used, the most common of which is sand. For metal processing, grains of 1 – 1.5 mm to 2 – 2.5 mm are added, depending on the thickness of the material.
\nSandblasting is necessary in the following cases:
\nPreparation of metal surfaces for application of various protective coatings.
\nRemoval of corrosion, especially at the joints of individual metal structures, where manual or mechanical cleaning is ineffective.
\nRemoval of a layer of old paint coatings, including graffiti.
\nCleaning of bituminous materials, removal of waterproofing.
\nThe need to obtain a certain surface cleanliness or relief of individual elements for a design purpose.
\nThanks to the use of special equipment, which consists of a compressor, a sprayer and an abrasive mixture of the required fraction with a determined particle size and hardness, it is possible to achieve various degrees of sandblasting of metal structures.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
